The Brazilian Association of Korean University Professors (ABPUC), comprised of Korean Brazilian professors from various universities in Brazil, was launched on Sept. 26 (local time).
The Association held its first meeting at the Consulate General's residence in São Paulo and discussed the major projects to be carried out, including supporting bilateral cooperation between Korea and Brazil, mentoring the next generation of Koreans, academic exchanges between the two countries, and conducting research and development (R&D) projects.
Professors from various fields including aerospace, medicine, biotechnology, chemical engineering, molecular biology, mathematics, journalism, linguistics, business administration, and literature have joined the Association.
"We will strive to serve as a steppingstone for the development of the Korean community and the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Korea and Brazil"
said Prof. Jungpyo Lee (University of Brasilia - Aerospace), who serves as the first ABPUC’s president.
